Join us for a soulful evening of blended Latin, Brazilian, folk and jazz sounds led by Swedish Ecuadorian singer-songwriter XATIVA and Portuguese singer Cláudia Marques.

XATIVA is a Swedish-Ecuadorian singer-songwriter based in London. She is a classically trained vocalist who fuses together traditional and contemporary, Latin and acoustic influences alongside elements from Jazz and alternative R&B.

She plays classical piano and Spanish guitar. She spent time living in Madrid, studying and playing with traditional flamenco musicians.
XATIVA draws inspiration from household names such as Astrud Gilberto and Nina Simone as well as more contemporary artists, including Rosalía, Lykke Li, José González and Natalia Lafourcade.

In 2020, she released her debut EP ‘If I Am Falling’, which was followed by a second EP in 2022, ‘Fly Away’. The projects are collections of songs that explore themes of memory and isolation as well as the hope and contradictions that surround being in love.
For these, she received critical acclaim from The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk and Wonderland, as well as tastemaker support from BBC Radio London and Flex FM.

XATIVA will be joined by Cláudia Marques, a Portuguese singer based in London and lead vocalist of the funky Brazilian fusion group Novos Londrinos. Her music traverses the rhythmic landscapes of Brazilian MPB, Portuguese Folk, Cape Verdean Funaná and Latin Jazz. Her sound lends from the timeless classics of these genres, as well as newer sounds like rule-breaking Sessa, mellifluent Tim Bernardes or rootsy Mayra Andrade.

‘Marrying arthouse inventiveness with soothing dulcet tones, XATIVA is one of those artists you’ll want to put on to your cinema buff friends just as eagerly as you introduce her to fellow audiophiles.’ – Earmilk
