Women in Jazz Presents Maya Delilah

Women in Jazz was founded in June 2018 by label manager Louise Paley and singer-songwriter and workshop leader, Nina Fine.

The organisation champions and nurtures female artists and DJs across the UK. Since their inception, Women in Jazz has started a public series of radio, DJ and business workshops for emerging artists, partnered with Ronnie Scott’s, British Airways, Universal Music, Allbright, Love Supreme Festival and Gilles Peterson’s radio station, Worldwide FM.

Tonight, Women in Jazz presents guitarist and composer Maya Delilah for a very special International Women’s Day show.

Maya Delilah is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from North London who attended the prestigious BRIT School whose alumni include Adele, Amy Winehouse, and FKA twigs, among many others. While building up a devoted following on Tik Tok and Instagram where she gained noticed for her incredible guitar abilities, Maya started self-releasing music in 2020 and has already racked up million of streams of fan favorites including “Breakup Season,” “Tangerine Dream,” and “Moonflower.”

In 2022, Maya signed with Blue Note/Capitol and released her unforgettable single “Pretty Face,” a soulful pop-rock slow jam that turns a disappointing relationship into an amusing and irrepressible kiss-off showcasing Maya’s delightfully pointed sense of humor and impressive guitar chops. It followed Maya’s appearance on Blue Note Re:imagined II, a compilation featuring rising stars of the UK scene reimagining the Blue Note catalog, where she put her own distinct twist on Cassandra Wilson’s cover of Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon.”
