Dagmarr’s Dimanche

“Dagmarr’s Dimanche” is a piano-vocal show comprising classic songbook tunes from singer-performer extraordinaire Hersh Dagmarr’s different shows, with a strong inclination to French chansons (Piaf, Brel, Damia, Gainsbourg…), and “cabaretisation” of modern songs (“Oops I Did it Again”, “I Love the Nightlife”, “Nightclubbing”, “Padam Padam”, “It’s a Sin”…).

The program revolves around the musical reminiscences of Dagmarr, the vampiric ghost of a Kabarett singer from the pre-WWII-Weimar-Berlin scene… “I was there you know…part of the underground sinful Demi-Monde which suddenly disappeared. But the biggest sin is to let memory fade and die away so guess what? All of us outcasts, renegades and marginals never disappeared. And little did they know that for us actually, it was only …the beginning!”

For each Dagmarr’s Dimanche, Hersh will be joined by a special guest. His first guest will be burlesque performer Bunny De la Croix.

Dagmarr will be accompanied by composer, arranger, and music director, Karen Newby, on piano.
