  • Ineza explores the amazing catalogue of jazz songs written or co-written by women – from Billie Holiday and Peggy Lee to the present day.

    This evening’s show is a special event. It’s The Album Launch of “Women’s Words, Sisters’ Stories”, a project by rising Jazz Vocalist Ineza and renowned Pianist, Alex Webb. Featuring album trombonist Rosie Turton as well as the original rhythm section team of Charlie Pyne (bass) and Katie Paterson (drums) and of course, Alex Webb (piano).

    Ineza is a dazzling Vocalist well known to the London Jazz Scene. Sebastian Scottney from UK Jazz News commented; “The first abiding impression of Rwanda-born, Belgium-raised, UK-resident singer Ineza, is quite how good and how gentle her way with songs can be”. Her pianist / MD Alex Webb is an arranger and songwriter with a long history of working with leading jazz vocalists; his songs have been recorded by Liane Carroll, China Moses, Jo Harrop, Allan Harris, Cherise, Ayanna Witter-Johnson, and many others.

    The album is released on November 1st, but signed copies will be available after this Launch at Crazy Coqs.
