That was the girl that was… or rather is. Through good times and bum times she’s seen them all, and my dear, she’s still here! At 87, Millie Martin is a living legend, and to celebrate her magnificent career Julez Hamilton takes you on the journey of Millie’s musical masterpieces with her sharp wit, a twinkle in her eye, some very special guests and the incredible Christopher Welsh at the piano holding it all together.

Hailing from the Cotswolds, Julez Hamilton trained as a classical soprano, graduating from Mountview in 2001, following which she branched into musical theatre.  As a jazz cabaret artist, Julez has performed in the US and across the continent, and in the UK she has brought her talents to Ronnie Scott’s, The Ritz, St James’ Studio, the Drury Club and Crazy Coqs, most recently her one-woman sell-out show at the Pheasantry, “Lena! The Magic of Lena Horne”.

Her theatre credits include Iago (Othello), Gwendolyn (The Importance Of Being Earnest), Lucy (Mother Figure at the Criterion), the Witch (Into The Woods), Mazeppa (Gypsy) and Side By Side By Sondheim (the Barbican).  Her opera credits include Musetta (la Bohème), Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute) and Marguerite (Faust, for Bath Opera).

CJ Welsh (Musical Director & Arranger) – CJ last collaborated with Julez on a sell-out performance of “LENA – A Celebration Of The Magic Of Lena Horne” at Pizza Express, to critical acclaim. As well as directing and arranging, CJ is a performer in his own right, in the fields of musical theatre, cabaret, jazz, and pop. CJ also works as a singing teacher on some of London’s top musical theatre courses, and has also worked as vocal coach on West End and touring musicals. CJ is delighted to be reunited with Julez in this new production, celebrating Broadway’s most successful song-writing team. Favourite Kander & Ebb song: Colored Lights.
