“Quast is a towering figure, physically and musically, with a rich speaking voice that has seen him cast in many an authority figure role, most notably Javert in Les Miserables. His presence fills the auditorium before he even speaks, let alone sings. For this show, he’s bringing out the classics. Hits from Les Mis, Sweeny Todd, Follies, and Oklahoma are spaced out with reminiscences of his life on stage, from his theatre firsts to the world’s major stages and biggest co-stars.” – Chad Armstrong, The Queer Review

“You could listen to Philip Quast’s stories about working on Broadway, in the West End and at the Sydney Theatre Company for hours, and even though his work has made him an international star, he genuinely retains the humbleness of the farm boy who grew up on the poultry farm in Tamworth. The giveaway star quality is that voice – it would have been a waste to leave it on the farm calling to the chooks!” – Beth Keehan, Stage Whispers

“I loved his stories about working with Bryn Terfel in Sweeney Todd and working with Stephen Sondheim backstage over sips of whisky to learn the finer points of musical writing.” – Beth Keehn, Stage Whispers

“…however, the main drawcard of this cabaret is his beautiful baritone voice! When Quast sings, the audience falls silent.” – Ceri Hutton, Glamadelaide

“There are few Australian music theatre performers as celebrated as Philip Quast, and none more modest about their accomplishments.” – Murray Bramwell, Daily Review

“His power over the house is palpable, his charm irrepressible, and his talent indisputable.” – Peter Wilkins, Canberra Critic’s Circle
